You’ve Never Budgeted Like This Before
YNAB is unlike any personal finance app, expense tracker, or money management system you’ve tried before—because it works. The powerful combination of award-winning apps and a proven method—YNAB’s Four Rules—has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people by teaching them to get control of their finances, stop stressing, and live the life they want to live.
A Proven Method—YNAB’s Four Rules
Rule One: Give Every Dollar A Job | Be intentional about what you want your money to do before you spend it.
Rule Two: Embrace Your True Expenses | Break up larger, less frequent expenses into smaller, manageable amounts. By saving monthly for insurance premiums, holidays, or car repairs, when the time comes, your money is ready and waiting to do its job.
Rule Three: Roll With The Punches | When life changes, so must your budget. Make adjustments and move along. Flexible budgets succeed because they’re guilt-free, realistic, and sustainable.
Rule Four: Age Your Money | As you repeat the first three rules, you’ll increase the time between earning a dollar and the moment you need to spend it. When your money is at least a month old, you’ll have finally broken the paycheck to paycheck cycle for good.

Neue Funktionen von Version 2.12.1
What’s New in v2.12.1
Once again, our developers have put on their bug-fixing pants (and pantsuits) to go-a-bug-wranglin’. And you’re all like, “why do you need to wear specific pants to fix bugs?” Hey, maybe don’t worry about how the bug-fixing sausage is made or how we just freely mix all sorts of metaphors together all willy-nilly. Just check out these sweet, sweet results:
- Bug fixes
• In some cases, the Create Goal button in the category details wouldn’t show up due to specific layout constraints. If it wasn’t showing up for you, it should now after this release.
• Nearby payees can now be manually removed again without having to forget their location...or without having to choose to “forget their location.” Who among us wants to remember going to the DMV?
• We fixed a rare issue where you could sometimes end up in an empty budget state on your phone while changing your password on web at the same time. No, this wasn’t an experimental Rule 5 - Transport Your Budget To An Alternate Dimension bit of code we were testing out. That hasn’t been released yet.
• Fixed an edge case that would allow a transfer payee to get a geo location. For online banks that was probably extra creepy (your bank is calling from inside your house???) but it’s been fixed now!
• We fixed a bug where the username and password input fields would be hidden behind the keyboard after returning to the app during login. Probably the most boring game of hide and seek ever, but that shouldn’t happen anymore.
• On the iPhone SE, we fixed an issue where the notes field in the transaction editor would be hidden by the keyboard. Man. That keyboard is cramping our style. What are you trying to hide, keyboard?!
• Fixed a rare crash when using Quick Budget. Um...that wasn’t what we meant by “Quick Budget.”
• As part of our continued effort to make the web/mobile experiences more cohesive, we updated the icon for "Account Settings" to match what we have on web. Where we used to have a little "settings panel" icon, we now have a little "user" icon.
