OverPicture is a Safari Extension that allows you to play any web video in Picture-In-Picture mode.
You can enable Picture-in-Picture for any web video the following ways:
• Using the Picture-in-Picture Safari extension button.
• In selected players like YouTube use the custom button.
• Press the P key while playing a video.
BrowserMask supports macOS, iOS and iPadOS.
Notes:
• You can enable the OverPicture Extension from the Extensions section of Safari settings.
Privacy by Design: OverPicture works completely on-device and does not store or send any information outside of the protected app sandbox.

I really like the implementation of this with the Player button seamlessly integrating into the Youtube Player. The animation is also really nice and smooth and there is no disruption when switching back and forth

I overall like the UI & functionality of this extension, however, recently it started showing duplicate PiP icons in the youtube player. Often as much as 6… Needs a fix!

Need custom keyboard shortcuts option

Some websites like Plex bings their own shortcuts and then the one from this extension doesn't work.
And the button in the custom Plex Web Player doesn't show up.

The app claims to work with every web-site - I cannot test this with every web-sites but it does work with news sites like ntv.de. Great job!
