Not yet thought through

In my opinion, the app is not yet thought through content, conception and UX wise. I love though that the texts are read by a human and a native Korean. Regarding the price point: the price point is very high compared to other highly developed and advanced apps. On top, the app hasn’t been working for two days now on my end. I‘m optimistic the app will improve over time and that I‘ll be updating my review. This kind of app is actually what is missing on the market.
Update: it‘s been quite some time I wrote the review and decided to give the app another try. The price gas come down as I expected but realised how awful the app still is. Not thought through from a UX point and super boring. All the feedback we have provided, don’t see any of them considered.

Sehr gute Ergänzung

Kann die App nur jedem empfehlen. Die Stories sind nach Level ausgerichtet, sodass man sehr einfach Texte gemäß eigenem Können auswählen kann. Ich habe das Jahresabo und finde den Preis fair. Ich erspare mir den Kauf/ die Recherche von Texten + es gibt zu allem ein sehr gutes Voice Over, was mir beim Hörverstehen hilft. Die Vokabelkarten sind noch ein sehr gutes extra on top.

Needs work

I’ve tried the trial version.
The good - offers bite sized connecting narratives which seem appropriate for lower levels (Id put myself at B1).
The bad - there are no translations apart from a preselected list of bold words. I’ve never seen a reader which doesn’t offer translations. As a result, it’s sometimes hard to practice developing a feeling for complicated sentence structures from English to Korean. Perhaps there are translations but I wasn’t able to find them.
The quizzes are also lacking . It’s either right or wrong, without giving any context as to why they are right or wrong. Evidence from the text would be helpful.
This app has a lot a lot of potential but to be asking money for what is, in my opinion , a clearly unfinished product, is too much.

Great app but still sometimes struggling

I like the app and how its organised, its simple to use and good quality. However it would be so helpful if I could tap on each sentence to see the sentence translation. As I dont know some words that are not bold or dont understand the meaning of the sentence because of structure or grammar!

Pricy but worth it

I've made it my goal to read at least a chapter every day and while i've had that goal before now the stories are actually easy but interesting enough for my level to stick with it.
For the price i just remember that it is 27 cents a day and every time i read i can tell it's worth it.
I was also afraid i would run out of stories quickly but really there are many levels and articles and stories so that i think i'll have a long time to enjoy them.

too expensive for what it offers

I enjoy this app, I love the fact that the stories and articles are tailored for each level and the app is easy to navigate. I have been a ttmik subscriber for a while now and was very excited when I saw that they launched this reading app BUT was somewhat surprised to see the price for it! I mean, it’s not cheap (to put it nicely). I already pay a hefty price for the ttmik membership so this is not what I expected (I don’t have a problem to pay for the app, but the price is honestly waaay to high). Also there are other apps out there that are better in my opinion and that you can also use offline; so it was a bummer to see that ttmik stories doesn’t work offline-I travel a lot by plane and thought I could use the app during this time, but surprise surprise..Also the quiz mode needs some improvement. I understand this is still the early stages of this app, but if I am paying this amount of money for it, well I expect it to be way better. As for now, it is not worth the money.

love it but so expensive

So, I really really love the App and in the three days of free trial I used it all day. It is so much fun and I love the stories. Also I think it is a very efficient way of learning. BUT I am already paying a lot of money for the membership at the TTMIK website, which is okay because there is a lot of content and buying the books would be much more expensive. So I get that. But then paying even more money for this app than for all the other courses at TTMIK is just ridiculous in my opinion. 200Euros a year or over 20 Euros a month ist just way to much for a student like me and also I don‘t get why I have to pay for another abo while I am already paying a lot for one. If the price would be fixed or if there would be ANY kind of free content in this App, like Duolingo which offers a free version and the opportunity to upgrade it to a subscription… that would be way more acceptable.
