‣ Can I edit the text in the app?
I don't plan to support any editing. Export the transcription and edit it in a proper text editor.
‣ Why is the app so large?
The app delivers the highest quality transcription on the market for 100 different languages. Rather than asking why it's so large, the real question is how is it so small.
‣ Why is the transcription so slow?
The favors accuracy over speed. However, performance is expected to improve in the coming months.
‣ Why must I keep the iOS app open while it transcribes?
iOS apps are fundamentally restricted from operating in the background for extended periods.
‣ Can I delete some of the languages to save space?
This is unfortunately not possible. The model has all the languages stored together in a way that makes it impossible to remove just some languages.

Does not save time
Using this does not save you time as like 90% of the stuff is completely wrong transcribed. Unfortunately you can't select a better model other than the default one, so you're completely stuck with low quality.

Sehr gute Transkription mit nervigem Fehler
Die Transkription funktioniert auf einem sehr hohen Niveau. Allerdings schleicht sich bei längeren (30-60 Minuten) Dateien ein nerviger Fehler ein, bei dem über 1-10 Minuten die Transkription nicht fortgeführt, sondern ständig ein Textschnippsel wiederholt wird. Danach wird das Transkript wieder richtig fortgeführt, bis es wenige Minuten später wieder passiert. Der Fehler ist unabhängig vom Dateiformat. Wenn nur die entsprechenden Abschnitte aus der Originaldatei herausgeschnitten und erneut transkribiert wird, passiert der selbe Fehler nicht.
Ohne diesen Fehler gibt es 5/5 Sternen.

Awesome! But where is the large model?
This app is just awesome, uses the Whisper Language Model excellently!
But is there a way to use the Large language model or is it technically not possible? I’m on an iPhone 14 Pro Max and with 6GB of memory it should be able to handle the large language model I guess…

Simple, privat and great!
Does a great job. It even understands when I mix English words into a German sentence, although not always and some words are not recognized perfectly, but that is to be expected

Frightingly detailled
As long as you have interviews with both speakers talking in english this app delivers beautiful results that are almost fit to print. Couldn't believe it's not butter back then. Can't believe that it wasn't a human transcribing for me still.

Hohe Qualität!
Ich bin durch Macwelt auf diese App aufmerksam gewordenund kann die positive Bewertung nur bestätigen: die Transkription von Audio zu Text funktioniert mit der App sehr gut. Dabei ist die App vollständig auf dem Rechner und somit bleibt auch die Datei privat.
Jedoch sehe ich in der Handhabung noch Verbesserungsbedarf. Aus unerklärlichen Gründen löscht er zuvor transkribierte Texte und überschreibt sie mit dem neuen Text. Vorher sichern ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert. Schön wäre es, wenn die App auch die Historie behält.

ein kleines Wunderwerk
ich bin jedes mal aus Neue erstaunt über die Präzision der Transkription. Ich kenne nichts vergleichbares Vielen Dank! Es verhilft mir zu einem ganz neuen workflow. Hier werde ich mit Freude spenden.
Einziges kleines Manko, das für mich aber nichts an der Bewertung mindert, eher ein Hinweis: bei längeren Pausen um Quell-Audio, also ohne Worte kommt es zu sinnlosen Wiederholungen im Text. Manchmal auch zum Abbruch.

Absolute Empfehlung für Protokolle etc.
Ich benutze die App überwiegend auf dem iPhone. Bin begeistert, weil Gespräche sehr solilde protokolliert (mitgeschrieben) werden. Und auch aus Datenschutz-Aspekten ist die technische Verarbeitung LOKAL auf dem iPhone absolut brilliant!

ingenious, the app even understands dialect
I tried the app with a recording in Schwyzerdütsch and in bayerisch and it transcribed the recordings perfectly into High German. Even a mumbled conference call in bad English was perfectly transcribed afterwards. What could be improved: the app should run in the background. The window can remain open, but not completely closed, and it should be able to transcribe longer voice recordings in the background.

Eine super simpel gehaltene App, die genau das macht, was sie verspricht. Funktioniert wirklich einwandfrei, auch auf verschiedenen Sprachen.
Nur innerhalb einer Aufnahme die Sprache wechseln wird nicht erkannt, aber das ist wahrscheinlich auch zu viel des Guten.

Könnte eine 6 Sterne App sein...
Die App liefert tolle Ergebnisse. Auch wenn der Entwickler keine Editierfunktionen einbauen möchte, das ist für mich das einzige was fehlt für eine Überragende App. Trotzdem 5 Sterne (den virtuellen 6 Zusatzstern gibt es falls die Edierfumktion doch noch eingebaut wird). Vielen Dank!

Near-perfect transcripts from video recordings.
I have just read about this app on Mastodon and it works like a charm. I have opened a video recoding of a talk and the transcript produced is very accurate. Super siple to use and just gets the job done. Very nice work!
