Nagging is evil - stop it now!

2 Punkte für für das völlig unnötige Nagging-Fenster beim App-Start seit mindestens zwei Jahren – nein, ich möchte meine Bilder nicht automatisch hochladen. Das ist meine Lebenszeit, die hier missbraucht wird.

Die Apps sind grottenschlecht

Die Performance der Apps (iPhone, iPad, AppleTV) kann man nur als mies bezeichnen. Mal laden die Bilder gar nicht, manchmal erst nach mehrmaligen restart. Ich überlege ob ich wirklich weiterhin das Geld ausgeben will.

Finde SmugMug super. Leider etwas teuer. Was mir in der App noch fehlt, sind Statistiken zu Aufrufen etc. Zum Verwalten aber sehr gut geeignet

Offline Modus funktioniert nicht

Der Offlinemodus funktioniert leider seit vielen Versionen überhaupt nicht. Dadurch kannst Du Deine Bilder nur bei perfekter Netzanbindung über diese App betrachten. Leider wird das Problem trotz genauer Fehlerbeschreibung an den Support vom Hersteller nicht behoben.

Great App to present your fotos

I rarely rate Apps. But this one truly deserves 5 stars. Easy to use. Handy lightroom plugin. Perfect presentation. I think that says it all.

Seit V2 macht die App Spaß und Sinn

Mittlerweile macht die App viel Spaß. Ausgewählte Bilder sind offline verfügbar, und von ausgezeichneter Qualität auf dem iPad. Als Viewer viel besser als Internet Browser. Allerdings werden immer noch keine Aufnahmedaten angezeigt.

Gute App mit Fehlern

Grundlegend verbessert!

Die überarbeitete Version der App lässt sich sehr viel besser zum Anschauen und Präsentieren der Foto- und Videosammlungen auf iPad und iPhone nutzen, als bisherige Versionen, und zeigt endlich auch Titel und Beschreibung zu jedem Bild.
Die Offline-Funktion ist super für die Lieblings-Alben - z.B. um Familienfotos auch ohne Webzugang immer dabei zu haben.
Ich habe somit alle anderen bisher genutzten SmugMug Viewer von Drittanbietern gelöscht.
Einzig an der Stabilität der App sollte noch gearbeitet werden, um die gelegentlichen Abstürze zu vermeiden.

New version crashes

The design update looks great - but sadly the app crashes now when opening some galleries. (Strangely not all of them.) I already tried reinstalling but it didn't help - so I hope it'll be fixed soon.

It crashes it so bad that I have to fix it by reseting the whole ipad via iTunes on my computer. So annoying and a huge inconvenience!!!

Still much to improve

You can't be serious about this release. One year ago I requested additional features like
- access by keywords
- info button for each photo showing filename, date taken, basic camera info
- showing geotagged photo on maps
Nothing.... The new release is also slow and unstable. A shame for the official Smugmug app. No match for the great website.
I recommend the 3rd party app SmugView. Much faster, more features, doesn't crash.

Good basic functionalities

Currently its not possible to play videos uploaded to SmugMug. The app is only loading all time long. Furthermore I wish to see the gallery descriptions and other text information includes on my website. At least I am missing a search functionality that allows me to search the pictures metadata like tags, etc.

Quite nice but I would have expected 2 more things:
- show some basic exim info for each photo with a info/detail pictures
- on iPad Air zooming to show quality images. But it just resize the low resolution image.

Einige Bilder, die ich für den Offline-Betrieb Laden wollte, werden partout nicht runtergeladen. Schlimmer noch, die App crasht, wenn man auf ein solches Bild zugreifen will. Da zahlt man den teuren Smugmug-Service und dann das...

Fantastic!

I really love smugmug, they continue getting better and better. Since the latest update it's possible to select galleries for offline viewing, even displays how much space an offline gallery uses on the phone.
Works perfectly on my iPhone 4 running iOS 7.

Leider sehr begrenzt in den Funktionen

Als reiner Bildbetrachter ist die App sicher ganz nett, aber im Vergleich zu anderen Apps von ähnlichen Photo-Diensten bietet sie einfach viel zu wenig bzw. gar keine Möglichkeiten die Bilder auch mit der App zu verwalten.

Could be awesome!

I really like the simple, reduced layout of this app.
But please hide the user/log-in stuff somewhere in the settings. I accidentally pressed "-" and deleted my whole user!!! Had to re-sync everything.
And it would be great to hide selected gallerys (like the one with the favicon inside).
I don't use password galleries, so I cant judge that.
Keep up the good work!

Leider unbrauchbar, da Kein Zugriff auf passwortgeschützte Gallerien

Falls man seine privaten Fotos oder auch im Kundenauftrag erstellte Fotos nicht öffentlich macht, sondern mittels Passwort sichert, lassen sich die Fotos mittels dieser App weder online noch offline ansehen. Daher leider völlig nutzlos, da ich ja Smugmug gerade wegen der besseren Schutzmöglichkeiten benutze und auch Kundenfotos nicht einfach öffentlich machen kann.

Ganz nett, aber kein Zugriff ...

Auf Passwortgeschützte eigene Galleries. Da ich hauptsächlich als privaten Fotospeicher nutze, ist der Nutzwerk stark eingeschränkt. Ansonsten macht die App eine guten Eindruck und ist ja auch kostenlos. Getestete Version ist die 1.4.2.

Warum keine Bild-Informationen

Nicht schlecht um auf SmugMug Seiten zuzugreifen. Vor allem die Möglichkeit die Bilder herunter zu laden, damit sie auch später offline zur Verfügung stehen, ist sehr nützlich.
Aber warum nur gibt es keine Möglichkeit sich Bildinformationen, z.B. ganz schlicht den File-Namen anzeigen zu lassen.
Damit sinkt der Gebrauchswert gewaltig. Daher auch nur 3*
