Look up your blue line and practice ringing - everywhere!
A very useful tool to practice my ringing methods whereever I am. Even more useful for me as I'm based in Germany without any full circle hung bells near to me so I haven't any chance to practice bell ringing so far.
Mobel at now allows me to at least keep up my methods. Of course it's different from real bell ringing in a real tower (and with real people!) but it's the best I can get here.
I guess even when not being ex-patrio and having the chance to ring regularly this app is quite useful. Because you can look up mehtods - and practice them! - just anywhere while waiting for the bus or when being squeezed in the tubes. You simply got your blue line diagrams with you - always.
There are, however, two ideas to make this bell ringing simulation much more realistic.
- First I wish for an (optional) delay in ringing resp. pulling the bell (well touching the screen of my i-phone) and the sound made - just as on real tower bells.
- Second, I wish to have a more realistic picture for rope sight. Instead of just switching between two pictures showing the sally and the tail end I'd love to see the sally and rope moving up or down.
Also, while I find the score option very helpful it is inconvenient to read the score. The score is shown in the far bottom right corner and the bell rung by the user is also in the bottom right corner. This means I constantly have my finger (ringing the bell) above the score display and I'm not able to read it while ringing and miss out the immediate feedback.
In summary, an excellent tool but I see much chance for improvement.
Thanks for that app!
