In an emergency, knowing what to do is key to saving someone’s life. Having the first aid skills to intervene will help you deliver care promptly when it is needed.  This text is meant to be used with the St. John Ambulance First Aid Reference Guide which talks about the following issues: head and spinal injuries, minor injuries (such as wound care, back strains), choking, cardiac and respiratory arrest, severe bleeding, and medical conditions (such as diabetic emergencies, seizures, asthma, and severe allergic reactions).
