This paper analyzes the recent evolutions of German foreign and defense policies and the implications of these changes on European and transatlantic security cooperation. Studying the responsibility gap that has characterized the German strategy since the Libya crisis, the authors highlight the need to adapt Germany’s defense and military policies to its political and economic weight in the transatlantic partnership.
