After years of facing supervillains, monsters, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – being working parents in today’s society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois are concerned with whether or not their sons Jonathan and Jordan could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. Returning to Smallville, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Clark’s first love, Lana Lang, and her husband Kyle. Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger enters their lives.

I have now watched several episodes of this series. I honestly keep forgetting that I’m watching a DC television series. As has been said, in the past they consistently tended to descend into various levels of political correctness that got in the way of what otherwise could be good storytelling.
Not here. It consistently avoids those traps, using excellent script writing, acting and production that doesn’t waste its time going there. Instead, it’s relatable to the human condition in a way that the others fall short on. You can see yourself in the characters and their struggles and that then involves your heart and emotions.
Please do not mess with this beautiful formula! It’s absolutely extraordinary! Arguably the best television that DC has ever produced.

As someone whose been reading Superman for 30 years, this is perhaps the best television adaptation of the character. Strong characters and moments. Great direction. And they finally gave Tyler a great looking suit!

It’s associated with CW so I keep waiting on it nosediving horribly but, so far, this show just keeps on delivering.
The characters are, on the whole, well written. Yes, the one son can be annoying but he’s a teenage boy with anxiety issues and unscripted teenage boys can be annoying without those.
They’ve walked a line between giving Clark things to apologise for (if you do that too often he diverges too far from Superman’s image) and parenting from his unique experience. There’s a part in episode 6 where he does what all fathers can be called to do and becomes the outlet his son needs. It’s a wonderful moment and very well played.
The production values are as high as I’ve seen in a weekly show since Stargate (allowing for the technology of the day, that show was pretty amazing) - the pacing is good.
Well worth 45 minutes to see if it’s your kind of thing.

DC missed the mark on Superman. One word comes to mind for this series, "Boring" It misses the mark on who Superman was, a creative spin? IMO it fails, a so so series at best.

This is what happens when you hire talented people interested in telling a compelling, well written story with organic diversity but without gratuitous politics attached! If you stay the course you’ll have a bonafide, long running hit on your hands instead of another batwoman.

The pilot episode is AMAZING ! I sure hope the rest lives up to my expectations. Brilliantly filmed. It looks like a movie. We don’t get the « TV show » vibe. Maybe it’s only because the first episode is quite long. Bought it for 30$. Well worth the expense !

I loved the first episode, I watched it on tv with my mom. I really loved how it gave me a bit of Smallville vibes. It’ll be interesting to see how they take the story because right now only one of the twins has powers. I hope they both will eventually have powers like Clark or like they could split the powers between the twins, that’d be neat! I highly recommend this show if you love the Arrowverse shows or just Superman in general.

One of the best Superman shows ever written. The production value is movie quality. The acting is amazing, the drama is real, and the directing is spot on. It makes for a great alternate reality continuation to Lois and Clark.

This superman has brought a lot to the table. It brings me hope that we can have a modernized version in 2021. It shows him struggling to be Superman and a father. If you have watched prior Arrowverse series this is a great addition but also stands alone as a series as a whole. DC comics has made a giant leap with this series and I hope it can keep the pace it has started.
