The Always Sunny Podcast is a look back on the past fifteen seasons of the hit show, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, hosted by Glenn, Charlie, and Rob. The guys are going back to where it all began: 2005. Starting with the very first episode, they’ll rewatch every season and give us a deep dive into their memories of creating the show, reveal how they first met, and discuss how they created a lasting partnership that has endured the better part of two decades. That is, if they can remember any of it.

Love the podcast and love Megan but for a comedy series, the podcast episodes tend to end up in some tedious rant made by Glenn talking about himself.

One of my favourite podcasts! I do listen with audio though, so some of the video elements get lost of me :(

Sorry guys… this is painful

Always Sunny is my all time favourite comedy series.
It’s dark, cynical, stands up over time, more my cup of tea (Brit here!) than Monty Python, The Office, Curb, Rick & Morty, Fleabag (awesome - take a look), People Just Do Nothing…
Buuuut… the podcast is so-so.
Limited insight, becomes a little too self-congratulatory for my tastes, focusses on the inane - with the only thing separating the guys (let’s not include Meg here) from three other middle age men chewing the fat is their prior success. Not particularly funny. Little valuable insight into the show. Less insight into life more broadly.
I’m sorry - being critical of anything connected to Sunny pains me but this isn’t adding anything to my experience of Sunny.
They’re more successful and have achieved more than I ever will. Props and credit to them. No argument there. No resentment. No jealousy. This is just a review of the pod.
‘Never meet your heroes’ they say. Never listen to them on an average podcast either.
Oh and hearing them plug McDonalds… I know, Capitalism and all… but, come on.
Don’t listen to this, watch Sunny (again) instead!

Sir?

As a tv show: #1…
…therefore as a podcast, why wouldn’t I/you love it!? It’s simply, brilliant & hilarious (exactly like the tv show)!
Anyone who doesn’t give this 5/5, ignore.

This podcast is insufferable, the format is stupid like just have a conversation, nobody cares what lighting u used in the season 4 episode 5 outtakes. What I dislike most is the girl who’s not even Dee (who is actually funny when on mic). Soft metoo fat disgusting pedo retard Dan Harmon I guess they just hand you a career in Tinseltown. SAD!

I like that they started off giving behind the scenes info but now it’s just a big back slap. You’d think they invented the wheel the way they go on, Jaysus

Loved it at first but it’s missing the point of a podcast sadly

I love these guys & I love sunny
But this is not a good podcast (anymore)
There’s far too many visual elements since the guys started recording video, a lot of which doesn't make for great listening on the way to work, in the gym etc.

Love it, actually

This podcast is sensational. So good to hear the guys and Megan speak about their experiences on the show but also their influences and how the outside world effects their writing and creation of the show. The complete lack of structure is rare in podcasting but it works so well for IASIP.

Great podcast, if you never whatched Sunny it doesn’t really matter, cause it feels like the episode discussion is more of an excuse for the hosts to get together and have a good buddy chat around a couple of beers.
The episodes are being discussed but the conversation will drift and lead to very funny conversations.
I m 40, and have known my 3 best friends since I am 4, and the discussions between Rob, Glenn and Charlie remind me of the good times I have when I get together with my buddies.
Though it may seem like improv and just random chats, I am sure there s actually a lot of work behind it.
From a listener and Sunny fan from France, big thanks to you guys and to Meghan and Kaitlin. And congratulations : 15+ years being consistently funny doesn’t happen a lot in show business !

I’m brand new to IASIP. My friends have been on at me for years to watch the show, but I only gave in during April 2022. The show is funny, but this podcast is hilarious. I listened whilst running the other day and nearly fell over because I was laughing so much!

The “browns out” episode was really poor. Sorry guys. I have always been a fan of the show and your podcast but that one was really bad. It’s endearing to listen to you intend to talk about an episode and then get sidetracked by the creative process. It’s cringeworthy to listen to your teenage-like bravado and self-congratulatory air whilst downing shots and thinking it’s the height of entertainment. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with drinking with your pals. Love that you’re pals. But the idea that you thought that it would make a decent podcast (I listen to it during my marathon training runs) highlights an arrogance that I’ve never before sensed from you guys. If I wanted to listen to three drunk 45 year olds riff on a guitar and talk down to people, I could go to any pub on the high street- you provided no more insights, no more hilarity, no more warmth (usually so present in your podcast) than that.
Whilst the actual premise of this podcast left me with a sour taste, I did listen to all of it and was horrified with your attitude towards the others in the room. First of all, who was Ross? Like a personal assistant? Weird that Glenn would bring his personal assistant (is it a drinking night with his buddies or work?) but then the way Rob and Charlie spoke about him (take a hike, Ross/ he doesn’t know us! He’s an employee!) was painful to see from three men who I had previously thought to be so kind and considerate.
Secondly, Meg joined in the drinking but then couldn’t do the technical side so Ross had to step in. Kind of felt like the “cool kids” giving the nerd all the homework so they could go get drunk. Again, nothing wrong with Meg joining in, just felt unplanned and Ross took the brunt of that. Meg getting giddy and wanting to join in was also sad because I like Meg and I like the fact she’s the one with the power: the buck stops with her. But here she was some giggling school girl who the boys has deigned to sit with. Where’s the Meg that asked Rob what it was like to listen to a room full of people he pays laugh at his jokes?
Thirdly, Meg got her limericks out and the guys were so patronising. “Oh, they’re so good, Meg! Wow, thank you. You’re a good writer. Amazing, you can write really well.” Hello, doesn’t she write for your show? Doesn’t she construct your dialogue? Why are you surprised she can write well? It was so condescending towards a talented woman that I nearly switched it off.
Finally, the outpouring of love for this episode has made me wonder about the rest of IASIP’s fanbase. Wholesome? Hilarious? Was I listening to the same podcast? How can that podcast be critically viewed as anything other than boorish men drinking and wallowing in their own sense of self-worth. Again, nothing wrong with doing that. Just don’t make it into a podcast and presume it is entertainment. Sad thing is, it turns out your humour, your intelligence, your empathy (so obvious in previous podcasts) is not something innate and constant. It no longer felt like I was with Glenn, Rob and Charlie but listening to Dennis, Mac and Charlie. And for fans that don’t see a problem with that, I think you’re missing the point of the show.

Love this

I listen to every episode of the podcast because I’m a huge Sunny fan. But I’m listening to hear those moments where you finally talk about the episodes instead of parking in LA, hair transplants, drive-thrus et catera. Maybe have one podcast where you talk about the episodes and another where you all can just joke around with each other. The podcasts where you barely talk about the episode, just goof around, and then end is a huge opportunity lost. Next podcast you’re on the next tv episode. Will we ever go back to hear about Dennis and Dee’s mom dying? Or just onto the next one?

I love you guys and this is a FIVE STAR SHOW But

Slow down boys, slow down. Delivered in the style of a bunch of giddy teenagers on a school bus spitting out their words at full throttle lest they are interrupted midstream by another way-too-hyper adolescent. Stressful to listen to and headache inducing.

I really enjoy the relaxed approach to the podcast. The way the guys go on and off topic has a really relaxing and authentic feel to it, which is exactly what I’d hoped it would be. With some genuine insights into production and the creative process but also some insights into everyone’s personal lives, it’s quickly become a favourite for me.

The show is not that well known in the UK but it should be.
