I have been listening to the Archers for about 40 years and my parents before me. They timed their evening meal for 7.00pm and wouldn’t answer the phone for that precious 15 minutes. I have the luxury of saving up episodes to listen to by podcast, usually when doing the ironing. However these incessant adverts for other podcasts are spoiling the whole experience. I stand, finger poised, as each episode starts, ready to advance the recording and eliminate the adverts. PLEASE STOP THEM !

Are we meant to be on Harrison’s side? He escaped serious consequences for breaching professional privilege in the Philip Moss scandal and blabbing confidential info to a mate. Now he’s just done it AGAIN…and we seem to be being asked to feel sorry for him and hope he keeps his job? A cop who adopts a “one rule for me and my mates, another rule for everyone else” approach is a danger to the community and this blabbermouth, interfering, unprofessional girl’s blouse of a policeman should be slung out on his ear, not pitied! You can bet if a colleague had done the same he’d wring his hands and say “Look, mate, I ‘av ta report ya for this - I can’t cover it oop, it just isn’t t’ right thing t’do” and go home and feel very self-righteous about having done the right thing. He’s not up to the job anyway, if he can’t hack full-time coppering in a sleepy rural community. He should become Shula’s protege and the two of them can go round being self-satisfied and interfering where they aren’t wanted.

If you read the comments it’s obvious that the adverts aren’t working. Please can you stop them now. If possible I fast forward past them, but the beauty of podcasts is you can listen anytime/anywhere and it’s not always possible.

Can’t believe how irate you sad sacks are getting over 30 seconds of adverts before the show and it’s making you not listen to the Archers anymore (and let’s face it, you are still listening) … you are literally getting this entertainment for free…

As you’re all too lazy to lift your sausage fingers to fast forward 30 secs, let me suggest you all get a more fulfilling hobby in your sad lives.

I have stopped listening to the Archers because the advertising before the show starts is just too irritating. It’s a shame as for many years it has been my relaxant before going to sleep. Not now.

Please stop these interminable adverts for BBC podcasting. Anyone who listens to the Archers listens to every episode, so having the same long advert at the beginning of each is pointless and alienating.

You have ignored these so sadly I am ignoring you and unsubscribing. These adverts at the start of the show asking people to listen to other podcasts are super annoying, and repetitive, podcasts listeners know other podcasts exist it just distracts from enjoyment of the podcast they are listening too. Maybe just put it on the omnibus as a compromise.

Have only been listening for a few months and upset it took me so long to discover how brilliant The Archers is. Now my daily hook and 13 mins of pure escapism. Well done to the writers and actors.

I love the Archers podcast, but the BBC self-advertising is annoying and pointless. I routinely press 30s forward now, although one needs two presses if you don’t want to hear how much the podcast presenter adores and worships himself

In our license fee paying household both of us have enjoyed listening to the Archers (at separate times) for decades, and both of us are nowadays infuriated on a daily basis by the pompous, self-congratulatory, intrusive adverts. You seem to be trying a lot of loyal listeners’ patience with this baffling and unnecessary innovation, BBC - not sure why you would knowingly do that.

Love the archers, detest the ads that proceed the episodes. We are regular listeners folks, we hear those same promos again and again.. so dull.

Leave the adverts out - obviously everyone hates them.

I listen on my way to work on the bus I wish I had listened years ago it makes my travel to work all the more pleasurable. Why have you introduced adverts for podcasts at the beginning?

86% of the licence fee is spent on BBC TV channels, radio stations, BBC iPlayer, BBC Sounds and online services.

So why do we have to suffer self advertising?

Listen to your audience who pay for the service already.

It’s like having a chat with two exceptionally funny friends about the Archers, plus Ambridge-inspired skits and impressions (which are completely brill-yunt, as Tracey would say). Honestly, I enjoy Ambridge on the Couch more than The Archers itself - and I love The Archers and have been listening for decades. On Sundays I visit two old ladies- Gran aged 97 and Mum aged ahem… this keeps me cheery in the car between care home and sheltered accommodation. If you follow The Archers but it sometimes drives you nuts and you need someone to understand why Emma surely just wouldn’t have said that, then this is the one for you.

I usually love this show but the adverts are really annoying!! They are not making me enjoy it. The skip 30 seconds button is definitely being used as I’m sure many other people are doing to skip the horrendous advertisements.
