I subscribed to the premium account a day before and paid a hundred rupees, however my subscription is still not activated. The amount is debited from my account as well. I reached out to customer care to no avail, they literally don’t care, it took me a long time to get a human being to talk to about my issues with this app, till then I was facing an inept chatbot. The human customer care expert just said my account is not activated because I am an iPhone user. If iPhone users cannot use premium features then mention that within the app, we are not accessing your services for free, we are using our hard earned money.
There is no point in doing hundreds of affiliate or influencer marketing campaigns on YouTube, you guys don’t know how to maintain a customer, I’m not returning to this app.

First of all even after buying premium membership mostly all the stories are tagged as VIP which will again cost you additional amount in form of coins. Well, just to keep the continuation I opted for buying kuku coins, and ended up finding that, in this way they make their customers fool, and rob their money. Because even after the successful transaction from my end, the coins did not get added. Even after sharing the transaction id and every single details they asked for, they denied my payment.
I am going to raise this issue in public as well as in consumer forum so that no other person can get into their trap.

Hi, i have been using this app since 2 months. The content is very good in this app but the app experience is bad. I listen all content in Telugu language. The issue is most of the times app wont be able to play content if i lock my phone(i use iphone 13 pro) and most of the chapters in books are abruptly ending without completing the chapter ending sentences and opening the next chapter from middle of sentence. And both chapter ending and starting seems to be unrelated. So please take care of these issues.

I dont recommend this at all.
Instead you can go with youtube. there are tons of audiobooks available in YouTube.
1- the translation is so much pathetic, pure Hindi like we used to see in old movies- they should understand that in modern world, it has to be a normal Hindi – don’t convert every word into Hindi
2- it happened with me twice. App failed to record my listening and so my streak got lost unnecessarily. Second time I read for continuous 22 days and then due to bug, it didn’t record and I lost the streak and with that I lost the interest.
3- their support system is even more worst. They don’t understand the problem at all and keep resolving it in the background.
4- worst is , they lack a lot of good titles which is supposed to be there. I was using Audible and now going back to the same. This app hugely miss big titles.

just switch from audible to kuku fm and realise that audible is somewhat expensive but extremely user friendly. The option to download is necessary so the user can listen the stories offline or low network area. i travel a lot in remote areas so offline listening is much more needed. And there is no proper channel through which i can request to provide any specific book.

Very good collection of books and very useful ones. Narration of the book is very good as well. Some of the books stop playing suddenly and some other book starts to play. Also when moving from one episode to other, next episode play from half way or more, its like someone foast forwarded it. They should resolve such glitches.

It’s very difficult to filter content. Language labels would be mentioned on book cover. It’s showing content of non-chosen languages often. App has very less features. Removing books from lists needs to be enabled. Downloads are not working offline. You’re dealing app like it’s a podcast app no it’s not. These are audiobooks.

With so many influencers recommending Kukku FM, I thought this is a good option. But when I took the subscription I realised the issues.
1. Not much content or limited to only book’s released recently and most of them are sort of self help content.
2. Very limited to no regional books on fiction, stories or from old popular authors i tried looking for Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil but to my disappointment couldn’t find even one interesting book.
3. Technical glitch- not sure if its just me or others have faced it but some reason search doesn’t return any results.
Though I stil have subscription for another year I am going to uninstall the app.
Hope they get back with better quality content.

1. whenever I open app it asks me to update DOB while the same has been updated many times, it feels so chip..
2. when I save any books the same will not be removed from saved section if you want to…
3. Customisation of saved books is not there, we could’ve option to customise the order of saved books….

I gave 5 stars for the great effort taken by an Indian company to make money in an useful way instead of making a nasty social media or time wasting entertainment app. Please concentrate on the books content. Some of them are stopped abruptly or no continuation between sequential chapters. Example mossad this book stopped half-way middle and continuity missing between chapters. All the best and I hope you will rule out all flaws. This is my first time writing a long review for an app in store.

I think it’s necessary to make a section of English and Hindi version. I don’t prefer Hindi-not because I don’t understand. But they explained the book in their own words. But in English the RJ read exactly what’s is written by an author. Therefore every book you released must have English version than one of Hindi as well. Loved this app to the core as i wanted to complete some books but couldn’t read it due to multiple things but now with kukufm now I’m listening all those with ease.

Audio quality and speaker is worst if they can improve this thing it would be great platform… the reader or speaker should be enthusiastic should speak in such a way that listeners should go on listening… but unfortunately the speaker just read like a robot whicha tremendous boring to hear

I am from south India and I don’t understand Hindi very well. When I open kuku fm for the first time this book is on the homepage Psychology of money. Annoyingly the book is not in English language. Maybe the the developers know Hindi. That doesn’t mean all India’s do. Also, I prefer to hear this in English.
I paid for premium hoping this is a cheaper alternative for audible. It’s not for all Indians
Respect the diversity and upload more contents in English
Not working in offline, worst performance

For me this app is really worst performing app ever ….
I am not saying anything about the content or the audio books ,It was really good
But I am talking about the app performance
Almost six month completed and I am rarely able to use this app
The reason behind this I am using in my iPhone 11
And if I want to use this app I need good mobile network then only I can able to use app
But if I download audiobooks , I can’t able to listen offline bcs it’s not work .
I download this app bcs it’s highly recommend by Dhruv rathee and I am biggest fan of this guy . And also pay for subscription
But with app performance I am completely disappointed ☹️
Hopefully kuku fm team will read this review and try to resolve this issue
And another thing I want my refund or another year renewal bcs I can’t able to use this app in this year subscription

It is better to install other audiobook platform such as Audible or Storytel since this app is not following any accessibility standards which is required for support assistive technology like screen readers magnifiers and other.
I am a person with blindness and tried this app with my VoiceOver screen reader.
I am unable to navigate through the application and have tried to get the subscription. though I tried almost an hour to complete the subscription process due to inaccessibility I couldn’t do it
Buggy Application

App consists lots of bugs and sometimes become unusable.
1. Even after downloading stories, the app requires data connection to play. Doesn't make sense of downloading an episode if the app requires internet to play.
2. Sound quality becomes really bad at the start of the episode and then becomes okay after few minutes into an episode.
3. The list of episodes abruptly becomes irregular. Episode 31 appears after episode 20 instead of episode 21 in the list. Restarting the app solves the isssue.
4. Playback stops after an episode ends even after all the episodes are downloaded.
Suggestion - Try making your app bugfree specially on the iOS platform, after churning out money from thousands of people.

I paid for subscription,but I was not able to use subscription,and they where saying u will get ur refund in 10 days but it’s already 20 days and I didn’t got refund,when I chat on there customer care service,after knowing my problem they stopped replying,I paid on 8 July from my Apple ID ,in App Store it’s still showing I purchased subscription,but still they r not replying,very disappointed from this Kuku fm

App is good start. Please update the below bug
1. When I start swiping between apps this gets stuck and always asks me log in again
2. When I log in it say in valid opt but in the back end it got logged in. Now I have to kill the app and restart it and it’s works fine without logging as it logged it
3. Some audio gets muted all of a sudden. Even killing and restarting the app does not help. I have to log out and log in again
4 when playing book one it’s all of sudden move to another book
5 no option to remove my recent play list

In my iPhone 12, the app crashes in between and then asks for signing up again. Even without crashing, it keeps asking for signing up again every next time i open the app. While the shows are good, it has no sense if the app behaves improperly. Please fix asap. I took the subscription just today and this is what I am experiencing. Totally kills the listening experience!!!

I appreciate your hard work for bringing good number of audio books to users.
I want to report a bug - sometimes play pause button doesn’t work and audio doesn’t play. I found this for Good to great book in chapter 5.
Button symbol changes to just dot with no play or pause symbol.

I like the concept of summarising books in simple language but the whole idea is defeated by a simple fact that audio stops playing the minute screen is turned off or phone locked . Should be able to play in the background with phone locked like all music apps play . Also does not support car play .

I bought this app (premium version) for listening to audiobooks. Sadly many of the very famous books are not available in English (Eg: Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari). The worst part is this. It’s not playing in the background (whenever I come out of the app the audio stops). I reported the same to helpline and they told that it would be fixed. Been 1 week since then and I have not received any mail or communication so far. Waste of money.

I bought the premium thinking I might get similar content that of audible(quantity wise).
There are plenty of options in Hindi which is good, but there are hardly few in English. This section contains some best sellers that’s it. Hope they improve in future. And customer support needs attention. They give out a name as representative but I guess it’s a bot and conversation with bot leads nowhere. Overall good concept.

This is big bug in your app .. as a premium user of your app this is really disappointing whenever I try to open without internet it’s open but when I go to my offline download page the app shut down immediately.. I cannot operate my downloaded without internet and I couldn’t download more then 2 audios.. could u please answer

The content provided is really nice. Quick feedback is the content is specific to only one language. I would suggest the product team to make the same audio content across all main languages.
For example, rich Dad poor Dad is available only in Hindi. I don’t have the option to listen the same content in other languages.

Make every book available for every language. Otherwise the point of introducing the regional languages is not justified. For example, the book “The Psychology of Money” is available in Hindi but not in English or Bengali. This is a bad experience as a customer. People of different language backgrounds want to listen to popular books and you can help them by making those available with all the languages you have listed in the app.

Good collection of Audiobooks and short stories.
I’ve started listening to Kuku FM as per my friend’s suggestion and loving it so far.
The experience is smooth and relatively easier to use that other apps.
Two things that i feel can be improved upon
1. For lock screen , it would be really awesome if you can include the forward and rewind button of 10-15 seconds.
2. If we can include books in English as well, it would be really great as sometimes the translation can be subject to wrong interpretation

there is no language available other than HINDI, I am not able to access the english audiobooks, and the hindi translations are not upto the mark with respect to the originals.
As a developer, you must add a popup while purchase that "only 1 language is available for IOS devices" so I would have purchased it after few updates or after few months.

Firstly the app interface isn’t very smooth.
There are glitches which tend to get u irritated.
Secondly to my surprise…I wasn’t able to acess english audiobooks. I am not sure as in it’s available or not.
I tired changing the language both from the app and from the website…but ‘English’ as language isn’t available .
Please see through the issues…

Found quite a few audiobooks and summaries for the titles i was looking for. The app was published very recently (the time I was writing this review), so i hope the developers further improve the experience.
