Not able to redirect and open gmaps from other apps. It shows continue to app and then their is a update on App Store. When pressed then it doesn’t update. Even if it does still it shows on the update list with this stupid open tab. Apple Maps isn’t better in India but atleast it redirects when searching from different applications to the location I want to be.

Google map is the best application as there is no alternative to it as on today., at many locations maps getting updated specially in satellite mode. City like Udupi map not updated since 14 months which is very strange. Google is only focusing on bigger cities, which is not a good practice for globally operated application.

Also, there is no option to mute voice alerts when a call is going on.
I have been giving a try to apple maps for past few days and surprisingly it works better than google maps on iPhone. Looks like my use of google maps going to be on hold permanently.

At times, life takes unexpected turns. For example, I was about to end things with my current girlfriend and was en route, filled with tears, sadness, and various emotions. Since I didn't have her precise address, I entered a nearby landmark into the gmaps to reach her location. After a long journey, I didn't find her but coincidentally ran into my ex, who had also recently ended a relationship. Surprisingly, we reconnected and became a couple once more. All thanks to Google Maps for this unexpected twist!. Thanks to Google maps!

Very bad experience as property is not maintained and food quality was very bad all 4 times meal was super bad we have complaint about the lunch quality, and in dinner they have severed us left over food served in lunch which first time our worst experience and in morning breakfast was really really worst. and Most of the facilities were either closed or in such terrible condition that using them was out of the question. The wave pool, which could have been a fun experience, was marred by the presence of insects and debris floating around. The swimming pool area was no better, with ongoing labor work and a shocking lack of any filtration system. The water levels were so low that it was barely usable. It was clear that the maintenance of these facilities had been severely neglected. While the staff was polite, it was evident that they lacked proper training in customer service. Their efforts couldn't make up for the overall disappointing experience we had throughout our stay. I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone to visit this resort. It's imperative that the management addresses these issues, from hygiene and facility maintenance to the training of their staff. This place sorely lacks value for money and even basic hygiene standards. I sincerely hope that the relevant authorities step in to rectify the situation before more guests have to endure such a disappointing experience.I request kindly do not visit this place and don't waste your money

I used several applications for map to locate the place and finding the best route, I never come to see an application like google maps.
If you want to travel anywhere in the world and make use of google maps it will not disappoint you. If you traveling by a car it give you the right direction at the right time.
On the way It will tell you take the next right/ left. If you go by wrong route it will tell you
"make a u turn or it will redirect you to the correct way. And many more advantages like mark the location, share the location, calculate the distance and time required between the points to travel etc. More over you can help Other travels by contributing new places photos to google maps. Google maps may give you gifts occasionally, but do not expect the gifts as gifts sending randomly. It is an amazing application available free for you. Thanks to the team of google maps.

So i was looking for time duration for example i am travelling from delhi to agra and then jaipur. So i check delhi to jaipur via agra, but google map didn’t understand me. It would be great if this feature is added like multi stop(just like we search for flights). And also if we can drag the direction line(blue colour) control over which route will give me what duration and so on on phone app. Also most of the time uber and ola take wrong route and charges extra. Blaming this is what map is is showing. So to avoid that, feature like sharing the exact route to the driver or kind of an alarm to notify driver before he takes the wrong turn. That would be nice because i have fought multiple times with these drivers for taking a wrong turn and ending up going miles away to take another uturn and at the end me paying extra. It’s just frustrating. Hope my implementations will take navigation a step forward. Thank you

I’m using google maps since so long and my experience with google maps is awesome but from last 2 months i’m unable to open a map link from whatsapp directly to the google maps app in my iphone. When i click the link shared in whatsapp the link is redirected to safari but not to application. Even from safari if i click on open app it is redirecting to app store not to the application. If i want the location then i’m copying the co-ordinates from safari and then i’m opening app to search the location. This process is frustrating me so much, please give an update to resolve this issue.

It’s literally the eye. It has removed my forever FEAR of being stuck anywhere in the world.
But things to improve :
1.) Indian roads unlike American roads are very different, these are NOT PLANNED cities, cities are planned later hence, not in ANGLES but in the form of GULLIES. Means GPS might show an opening but it takes me DEADENDS loads of times.
I mean INDIAN ROADS DON’T NEED TO BE ACCORDING TO GPS. THE GPS needs to means GOOGLE MAPS need to FIT INDIAN ROADS. Means ONE SIZE FITS ALL doesn’t FUNCTION ESPECIALLY in India.
WE ARE TRUE AND REAL DIVERSITY IN EVERY SENSE. hence, societies for children safety and various other reasons have created dead ends at places to keep COLONIES PEOPLE SAFE. (Here we don’t rely on machines BUT NEIGHBORS FOR OUR SAFETY)
But whatever it may, GOOGLE MAPS HAVE MADE OUR LIVES GAZILLION TIMES EASIER. (But sometimes the SHORTCUTS ARE THE LONGEST CUTS I HAVE MADE due to GOOGLE MAPS. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂) anyways, GOOGLE MAPS ENSURE ADVENTURE AND this helps us LEARN DRIVING, BACKING UP and PARKING in the most CONGESTED AREAS.

India maps need a lot of attention

Nobody will deny the immense benefit of this app. However the India maps really need some work. The routes identified very often are such narrow roads that it is not possible for a car to really go through that route (though you have selected car as the mode). The last mile is very often inaccurate and ends up taking you to the rear side or some distance away and at times nobody is around to help.
Can Google have an option to choose type of vehicle which can then be taken into account when recommending a route. E.g an SUV cannot take the route of a small car when the route has narrow roads; so having a large car option and ensuring that the route suggested can be taken by a big car would help.

This app is non - reliable. Whenever I use it , it shows me lousy roads instead of the main roads. I was on a holiday a few days ago and the destination was one to two hours away and it me five to six hours to reach. Never ever worked. You might find some reviews which say this app is the best navigation map. But then I tried using apple maps and a unpopular app called mapple. When I used them , spot on!! Amazing functioning and simply loved it. So whoever wrote good reviews about this app; please try these two apps which I mentioned.I hope they will work as they worked for me 😊. No hate towards the Google industry but please, make this app reliable for me and everyone. I’ve had enough stressful trips because of the off routes for a lifetime.

Hello Team, Latest Google Maps is not showing the correct navigation system. Instead of showing the shortest route, it is showing the longest route to consider. Even if there is a road to navigate, it is asking to walk for something and take the another route which is far away from the starting point. Road No: 635. Medavakkam Main Road. None of the navigation is happening through this road. Please fix the issue asap. Thanks.

I’ve been using Google Maps since 2012. As a guy who likes to run and walk most of the time instead of working out inside a gym, this app made life a lot easier until now! I don’t know if it is my phone or not but since the last update, the navigation wouldn’t point the right direction no matter how many times I’ve changed my position so i could get a correct navigation. Before this update, the navigation always point in the right direction but now it is extremely difficult to get a correct navigation. I wonder why this is happening. For example the voice assistant just be like, “head west to this and that..” and I’m like.. “west from where? i mean i am not a compass.. i don’t know which direction is west from where i am currently at?..” Please Google, fix this!!!!

I am using it since last many years, and now it has become an essential part of life. I used many application for map to find location and find best route, I never see application like google map. If you want to travel anywhere in the world and want to use Google Maps, then it will not disappoint you. If you are traveling by car then it gives you the right direction at the right time. On the way it will ask you to take the next right/left. If you go by wrong route then it will make you "U turn or it will redirect you in right way. And many more advantages like marking location, sharing location, calculate required distance and time between points to travel etc. At most you can help other travels by giving pictures of new places in Google Maps. Google Maps may give you gifts sometimes, but don't expect gifts to be sent randomly. It's free for you is an amazing app available in. Thanks to the team of Google Maps.

Absolutely google maps is amazing… but we often find difficulty in two aspects:
1. In finding the route map of a particular location, along with one more stop, then it wont display consolidated milage, through which driver can asses milage / journey. Kindly provide an option for getting total distance after adding few stops.
2. If we want to drive to a particular location using maps app, while driving unfortunately if we could move through previously specified route, google maps updating to a new route instantly, but during that moment driver getting confused. So if u can provide an option to switch to new route or returning back to new route… it would be much better bcoz new users need clarity rather confusion to get equipped with app👍

Hi Google Maps,
You all are doing a great job helping out people find their ways and stop getting lost midway.
But I found a bug:
1. Recently i observed that while checking the directions, the route map shows the correct turns to be taken and path to be taken, however the instructions in the top says otherwise.
Example: if the turn is towards right, route map shows right but the instructions says turn left!!
This is confusing and I myself have become the victim if wrong routes!
This is mostly a bug that needs to be tested first and then fixed.
Then I have a suggestion:
2. Now when a car is looking for route, it expects wide roads such that at least a car can pass by.
But maps tends to show routes through with a bicycle can only pass. This creates a chaos as we already have come so far till that route and now to our surprise that path is so narrow that only a bike can go.
Hence, the route must be updated based on the dimensions of the vehicle as well.
I hope this makes sense and also helps more people find their ways and not lose directions of life!
Screen frozen problem on apple car play

Since last few weeks I am not able to use google maps on my XR OS 16.1 with apple car play. After a minute or two, screen of my display in car get frozen and nothing works. When I come out and go to google maps , it works fine again for few minutes only. I am not able to receive call as screen is frozen. Voice keeps coming but screen is frozen. Works fine without car play on phone. I tried by resetting my car system , uninstalling google map and reinstalling it. But nothing worked. Please Look into issue. Other apps are working fine on car play including Apple Maps. Please check.

Google maps is one of the most incredible apps which has actually changed and added great value to our lives. I have still given it 4 stars instead of 5 plus because I’m finding the user interface to be not as intuitive as it should be. A week ago for some reason google maps started showing me an inverted image when paired through apple car play with my car. Since I couldn’t solve that problem by ordinary means, I deleted the app and reinstalled it (downloaded it back from the cloud). While this solved the problem of the inverted image on the paired car screen, it started the voice narration for directions. Now I’m trying to find the licks even buried deep into the menus but I seem to have seen everywhere and can’t find it! I can’t imagine where it’ll be buried, while it is such an important feature that it warrants having its own icon on the navigation screen to simply click and toggle between voice narration on or off. Any kid designing this app would also probably say the same. Bad miss from google who should have billions of dollars behind their tech and design and consumer feedback teams.
P.S. if anyone has the solution, please direct me to it!
Add a feature for “Plan Your Journey”

It will be a huge upgrade if you’re able to add a feature for “Plan Your Journey” where if you want to reach a particular destination at a particular time ‘T’, and the journey take ‘t*’ travelling time at that particular time of the day (considering the traffic etc), you may add your journey details to Google Maps and the app will send a reminder (as set by the user) about when to start the journey.
Also the app can considerably improve the app by improving the way you depict when to take/leave a flyover or a service lane. You may use an illustration of a flyover/ service lane with an arrow depicting which side to take.

I’ve used google maps for years and contributed to add places, edit info, check roads and facts and more. I have no complaints except one suggestion.
I’m a working woman and a traveller, hence I frequently keep visiting cities I’ve not been to before. I have had 2-3 instances when google maps took me through some really dark roads with no lights, no people and barely any visibility of the road ahead.
I am always careful about where I take a turn that would possibly lead into any unsafe streets or dark alleys and try to stay on the main roads as much as possible. It would be great if you had a switch or an option for ‘safe navigation’ that would ensure it shows you the main route even if it is longer, keeping you in the public.
It’s quite a suggestion I know, but those 2-3 instances have been terrifying and I would not be able to stop anywhere because it felt extremely unsafe. There will be smaller roads and areas that we need for navigation but at least, If such extremely remote areas are not suggested on maps for single travellers mage at night, it would great. This would help so many women travelling alone at night in different cities.

Track lock feature

Google should add a feature which lock track once select, tack should not change if user enter in another street. A few weeks ago I was on my bike lonely, so I can’t use my phone properly, I understand the next 2-3 km route then I put the phone in my pocket at that time mistakenly I entered another street so Gmap change its route. This same process happens again and again so Gmap changes its route. My office was 10 km away and I derive 15km because Gmap change its route. So google should provide a feature which asks to use before starting a route “do you want to lock your route” whenever the user takes the wrong turn show an error, not another route.

Great location, warm and friendly hosts- it was an unplanned trip, since the place was completely occupied the hosts were kind enough to make arrangements for me in another guest house and the next day they made my arrangement in their own guest house and then the party started. Very spacious and comfortable rooms and the chef is also equipped to provide all kind of meals to you. The best part was that it was all freshly prepared meal. I had the privilege of eating freshly prepared and authentic Himachal cousin. If you are looking for some serene location, be it work or leisure I would suggest everyone to go there and spend sometime.

Google map is widely used app and while driving the car and it’s really very reliable. But sometimes google chooses some shortcuts to save time and those become very dangerous. By following those roads lot of people entered some dangerous area which caused snatching and other problems like female security issues. It’s a humble request please don’t automatically leave the highway that can ruin someone’s life. Or please add some checkbox which will enable “Always highway”.
The major problem in India the bikers they start the map in car mode because that’s the default mode so based on last update may be googles algorithm understands some road as the road for car but it’s actually not. That’s too narrow only bike can go.
So it will be grate if google sets the default mode as bike mode then this problem will be resolved. The bikers will start the map default and car drivers will set the car mode and drive.
So google’s algo will not show the bike’s road for a car

The Experience Center of Bonito Designs offered a platform to me to understand different home interior designs even better and to compare different options before finalizing one. From detailed maps to information about places, Google maps has it all. Especially in countries like India where apple has not yet fully penetrated, Google maps is the only option we have. Which brings me to why I gave four stars. The Watch app of Gmaps feels a little useless when you live in cities like Kolkata or Delhi. What I mean is, without a visible map, it’s very hard to navigate. I’d rather have look at my watch to decide which turn to take while walking through narrow and tricky alleys. Apple maps has the functionality, so I really want gmaps to have it.

I started having the problem. Google Maps used to work perfectly up until early June. Now it shows my location correct to start then either freezes and blue dot never moves or moves for under a minute and then freezes. Sometimes I hit Start Navigation and nothing happens... no sound, no movement. If I close app and start again it works for a minute or two but then quits workings. Sometimes closing the app and restarting does nothing at all. Tried everything including reseting location services, resetting network settings, deleted and downloaded app again, factory reset on iPhone, toggling off/on airplane mode and wifi mode, clearing cookies on Google. Sure wish Google would fix this as I really rely on this app!!!

Hi, This is regarding an experience I had last day while using this app. It seems to be calculating new alternative routes even if I switch lanes slightly. It had cost me extra 20mins to arrive at my destination. This app should have an option to set my preferred route and warn me if I am diverting from it rather than entirely changing to a different (longer) route. This would have saved me a lot of time as I could have easily moved back to the correct lane. I would suggest something like a 'pin route' feature, which I can use, once I have got my preferred route. The route calculation right now is rather too proactive, in my opinion. Hope this would be addressed soon.

The map is good one for navigation but mostly unreliable. I wonder if Gmap ever actually cares to verify or correct its data instead of blindly keeping faith on so called Local Guides who mostly work only to increase their own points instead of contributing to the improvement of the map in a legitimate way. For example, the map shows some weird name for my own locality listed nowhere with the local authority or known to the local people. And there is no way you can report that in plain English or fix it. And even if you report something wrong to Google that you know better than the local guides Google still keeps counting on their knowledge instead of yours. The company that I worked for has officially been closed and merged with some other company that I presently work for. But Gmap thinks I know less about my own companies than the map contributors and rejects my updates. Ridiculous!
The whole software is depending on a allegedly unreliable source of information with a proper verification process and so someone new to the locality can hardly rely on its information at least here in India.

I am using google maps for last 8 years. I am very much happy to use it for travelling. However in recent years I noticed that google will show route through small lanes and complex routes instead of the main road. These causes confusion when you take your car into these unknown roads and you are stuck there. Google please avoid these kinds of routes suggestions. Atleast warn the driver and let them choose which route to prefer.
For iPhone I would request you to bring live maps support in Apple Watch OS too. These would be a great help. A push notifications on Apple Watch is not that comfortable.

Indian maps need to have a road quality feature, I guess it could be done by asking the google maps users about the quality of the road. Some of the roads are in pretty bad condition. Realised it while coming back to Kolhapur from Goa. The roads are terrible. If google maps had that feature which could tell me the road quality. Then I would’ve taken a different route. This is useful at least to the car owners who have good cars but have less ground clearance. Please add the feature. Indians drivers will bless you.

Exploring new places is my hobby. I start contributing at the google map with a purely holistic approach. But one day I was surprised that my contribution-profile rating suddenly became “0 stared” from “7 stars”.
Dear google map team, you should must understand that majority of the contributors are expecting nothing from you. So, either please stop awarding “...STAR” awards and suddenly making it from “7 to 0” ... (quite disappointing) as no one is expecting a reward from you... OR ... people like me will like to stop contributing and delete our account from your platforms! This is a suggestive, to respect others individuality and integrity.

Best app for location accuracy. 99% accurate. But in suggestion it is showing u have so many places which I hv not. The reason what I understood is that’s my route from office to home.
So this thing needs to be corrected in google map, bcoz many of the places which I hv not visited but it is showing that u have visited this place only because that’s my route and I just pass through this route.
One more feature can be added on google map like suppose I’m going some where and in middle of my route I found some traffic or work in progress or some odd event happens, then there should be option to update these things on google map.

As update will it be possible to provide a travel time estimate based on a time period in the day.
For instance, it might be 1500 hours but I want to get an approximate travel time for 1930 hours.
As a solution, we should be able to filter time of the day.
A lot of users like myself usually open google maps to check the time required to travel to place. It helps with with an estimate I can share with colleagues or loved ones, a guesstimate. This guesstimate can have large deviation based on what time I actually choose to travel.
Please provide this as an update.

This is my go to app for navigation. But lately I have found several shortcomings for it which makes it unreliable. Firstly the traffic delay shown in the map is only 80% reliable. Secondly whenever it detects a delay it tells that delay is caused by accident. But never have i seen traffic delay due to an accident. Thirdly it sometimes routes us through detours for no apparent reason. While traveling on long journey first time it made me get out of highway, take a detour through a really bad road and then get back into the same highway for no reason. I confirmed that avoid tolls was off still it made me detour and waste my time. Very disappointed with the improvements.

I heavily relied on google maps for all my travel since the past 6 years, without a doubt it used to get me wherever I wanted to be to places I didn’t know anything about. But it’s been crazy the past two months, it fails as a gps navigation, it doesn’t even catch your own location correctly, fails as a traffic update as well, to be honest it’s quite frustrating because there was blind trust before but now it keeps you in the dark till you miss that turn or you realise you’ve been heading in the wrong direction for the past few minutes. Just hope this gets fixed, everything else apart, we need the basics first, which is why we use it in the first place

I have been using google maps as my staple since I don’t even remember.. been more than 7-8 yrs and never had any problem but of late I think they have come up with new features but their best feature has go down 👎🏻 i.e real time traffic update. Earlier I used to always chk traffic on my way to office n back to see if there was one but now it always shows blue lines n no traffic, says u wld reach in 20 mins but when i start driving i realise, man there is heavy traffic n it makes me reach after 50 mins.. dude what are you guys doing? Keep it simple, no one needs so much data that the basic thing for which ppl use gmaps go away. This has been the trend since a month. I check it every day. Please fix this else ppl will go away from the app from being unreliable.

Its irritatingly true. Updated my google maps and ios few months back and google maps has stopped working properly on my iphone since then. 3-4 issues keep puzzling me.
Firstly my location shown on google maps is usually few meter away from me and off the road on many- a-occasion. Second, when I put my destination and start navigation my location again keeps hovering randomly around me invariably off road. The directions of turns which need to come from google maps never come. Third, the map never reroutes even if I change my route.
Iv tried calibrating my location, reinstalling google maps and recovering my iphone post factory reset as well but nothing works. Earlier I thought it was a location issue on my phone but location works perfectly fine on uber ola and all my other apps.
Google needs to put its act together and sort of bugs like these.

Many a times Google maps doesnt update real time location on timeline. There is much problem in the Pin which doesnt move despite location services, timeline history is kept on. Whenever we try to share the location on Whatsapp or iMessage, some different location is sent. We have to switch on the phone again and again. Timeline for iOS is hopeless. Andriod phones get updated at each and every second. iPhone doesnt update. The "I am here" feature to checkin is also missing on iOS. If thats introduced then timeline will do wonders. Whenever we visit any place and come back, that place or nearby location is also not updated in timeline and history. We have to carry an Andriod phone with us for realtime location update. Please rectify these faults asap. Google maps is best to find routes, ETAs, etc. Only timeline is faulty.

Mapping was my hobby during college days ! With Google maps it has added a lot to my life even st this age ! Now before visiting any place I check the reviews at Google map and then write my views ! Hope others follow this method ! Only difficulty in searching a place by name is the ‘Distance’. If I want search nearest Hotel by it’s specific name it dhiws a big list. If this list shows the distance then I can choose the nearest one. I have seen in Wikimapia that it shows the distance along with the name and that gives you ample clue. Google maps must be having that feature but at least I don’t know !

I have been using Google maps for past 7 years however I never got time to credit the usage. Over this time I have seen the way the application has been changing by taking all the feedbacks very seriously.
I have used primarily for my road trips and it had been life changing experience where we typically end up along lot of people for directions and now this app has totally changes it by showing the shortest possible path to the most remote location possible.
Though sometime my privacy gets breached but the advantage I get is dobson I can surely trade off.
In the end would just like to say thank you Google for giving an app that changes the way people travel.

Imagine your in travelling in train at late night you don't know exactly when you will reach your station maybe in that case we should be setting an destination point on google maps (previous station to your station )
So that the app can remind you when you reach your destination.
One more thing is when I see which station is next I have to go along the train track so it would be comfortable if there is a separate mode which would show all stations on that that current route I'm traveling this is the expectection
But I know that saying is easy but creating is difficult

Recent times more than once google maps guidance was incorrect. I read the route and then start my journey. So that reading was misleading and mixing up so I thought to follow the map while I drive.
So I have reached some point and thought why no voice of guidance, when I checked map wasn’t moving!! So I managed and then stopped car restarted app went ahead few meters still it wasn’t moving nor taking my location. So I stopped car again and restarted phone. Still same and was on wrong route as location won’t move and no way to get guidance.
Had bad experience that day!! Earlier I it guided me wrong but if someone with some idea helps can be sorted and never thought could get stuck.

I’m using Google maps from last 2 years..And no doubt Google map is best app for maps in the world✌️..It is very useful when you are in new city..I use google maps with headphones on bike and it was giving me directions on headphones till earlier all updates..but in this update directions are not giving on headphone..I don’t know why?..it is becoming very annoying to remove mobile from your pocket and see the route after every 5 minutes in the middle of road..so please solve this problem as soon as possible..
