Disk Decipher allows mobile access to your encrypted virtual disks. Do you have your passwords or other sensitive information stored in a VeraCrypt or TrueCrypt container or FreeOTFE, LUKS or DMG volume? Disk Decipher will allow you to access that information from your iPhone or iPad.
Disk Decipher currently supports:

- Storage provider: local filesystem (transfer the disk image from another app using the Open In menu, using iTunes to transfer disk images or importing from other apps supporting document providing)

Die App ist insgesamt sehr gut, sie kann relativ schnell ein Volumen entschlüsseln. Es gibt allerdings leider ein paar verbesserungswürdige Stellen:
1. Sicherheitstechnisch ist es eine Schwäche, die Dateiendung für die Entschlüsselung zu verlangen. Man könnte bei Dateien ohne Endung schlimmstenfalls selbst vor der Entschlüsselung das Format angeben.
2. Zu viele gängige Videoformate fehlen: AVI, FLV, WMV, WEBM, MPG… Unterstützt wird fast nur MP4 und MOV. Und manchmal können selbst diese nicht abgespielt werden. Das führt dazu, dass der Nutzer die Dateien außerhalb der App speichern und diese mit anderen Apps wie VLC abspielen muss.

Ich habe lange gebraucht bis ich herausgefunden habe, dass ein angeschlossener USB Stick verknüpft und nicht importiert wird.
Ebenso bleibt das Programm beim Mounten auf 20% stehen. Man muss vorher nur lesen einstellen, dann geht es.

Hallo, eigentlich ist die App super, aber seit dem letzten Update lassen sich aus Fotos importierte Bilder nicht mehr anzeigen. Fehlermeldung: Bildtyp wird nicht unterstützt. Importiert werden normale .jpeg Bilder die bisher immer funktioniert haben. Bitte beheben.
Nachtrag: Fehler wurde durch Update behoben, alles funktioniert wieder. Bewertung daher auf 5 Sterne geändert.

I use the app to access TrueCrypt containers on my iPad and iMac. Works pretty well.
There are two minor things I would like to see in the future:
1. For viewing rtf files there should be a preference setting that determines the tab distance. Right now texts containing tab characters look ok in TextEdit but get out of shape if viewed with DiskDecipher on my iMac.
2. When viewing an rtf file, for accessing the search function you have to click on the looking glass icon. It would be nice if also the cmd F shortcut worked.

Disk Decipher works well on my iPad when I plug in the drive via USB-C. On my iPhone, it works too via USB-A in combination with Apple‘s Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter (MK0W2AM/A).
On my Mac and PC, I use VeraCrypt. But Disk Decipher does also run on my Mac under macOS 10.15.7 Catalina. On macOS, the UI is the same as on iOS. So no Finder integration. But files can be imported. Files can be opened either via Quick View or in any external application.
I prefer VeraCrypt on macOS for its finder integration. But, for example, users who do not have admin privileges (like in companies or schools) may be able to install Disk Decipher via the App Store without bothering their admins.
On iOS, Disk Decipher enables working cross platform with my encrypted containers like no other app so far.
Because Disk Decipher is closed source, each user has to decide for themself whether they should or shouldn’t trust the developer with their data. This consideration is acceptable for me for using my personal, mildly sensitive files on thumb drives and for protection in case of loss.

Die App wirkt anfangs sehr minimalistisch. Allerdings macht sie genau das, was man von ihr erwartet. Sie ermöglicht es, verschlüsselte Container auf iOS-Geräten nutzen zu können. Diese können entweder via iTunes direkt aufs iPhone geschoben werden oder in der Cloud liegen. Für die Cloud-Nutzung lohnt sich ein kurzer Blick in die Anleitung auf der Webseite des Herstellers (disk-decipher.hekkihek.nl). Neben VeraCrypt werden auch TrueCrypt, FreeOTFE und LUKS unterstützt. Etwas schade ist jedoch, dass man in der App bisher keine neuen Container anlegen kann, wie es bei der Alternative „Crypto Disks“ der Fall ist.
Wer auf seinem iOS-Gerät Daten sicher ablegen möchte oder diese sicher über eine Cloud synchronisieren möchte, hat mit dieser App eine passende und günstige Lösung gefunden.

...und erstaunlich schnell. Dateibetrachter für alle gängigen Formate sind integriert. Auch "Open in..." funktioniert, wenn die Containerdatei ihre passende Endung (.tc, .vol, etc.) hat. So steht es auch in den FAQ des Entwicklers beschrieben. Schön auch die Sicherheitsabfrage, wenn eine Datei die App-Umgebung verlässt, um beispielsweise in einer anderen App geöffnet zu werden.

Hinter dieser App steht also jemand, dem sein Projekt am Herzen liegt.
Dafür ist der Preis mehr als gerechtfertigt und ich hoffe die App wird noch lange weiter entwickelt.

Seit dem letzten Update ist die Anwendung wirklich gut! Der Zugriff auf TrueCrypt-Container in der Dropbox funktioniert jetzt hervorragend. Wünschenswert wäre, PDF-Files unmittelbar anzeigen zu können. Aber über den Export an zum Beispiel den Acrobat-Reader klappt das auch jetzt schon.

Habe mir das Programm gekauft, um auf meine TrueCrypt in der Dropbox zugreifen zu können. Funktioniert ! Danke. Wünschenswert ist natürlich nicht nur das lesen sondern auch das schreiben.
Bisher kamen in regelmässigen Abständen Updates- Super- klare Kaufempfehlung!
