The Power of Mercy

The Power of Mercy

Länge: 48:56
Granting forgiveness for the wrongs done to us can be one of the hardest things we face in life. But forgiveness can also be transformative. In the first of a two-part series on apologies and mercy, we talk with psychologist Charlotte Witvliet about the benefits of forgiveness, for both the mind and the body.

... please stop repeating so many old episodes so often! It is annoying for long time listeners. I also don't get it - older episodes are available still - no need to repeat them.

Thank you for all the research and effort you pour into this show. Sometimes the information is so dense and interesting that I have to listen to it a couple of times. Shankar’s caring voice and the guests always make it an interesting listen.

Love it!

Kaum zu glauben: aber wirklich jede Ausgabe ist interessant, sorgfältig gemacht, keinerlei improvisiertes Leerlaufgeschwafel. Und das Englisch ist ziemlich leicht verständlich.

Just great! 👍❤️

I love every episode, I sometimes just listen back to old ones because I am all caught up. It is always interesting, Shankar has a great sense of humor, fantastic questions and insights and just seems like the most likeable guy in the world. I love the way he speaks the most beautiful English with his lovely accent.
I listen to a lot of politics podcasts and this one is a welcome change. Sometimes you just don't want to hear that stuff anymore, right?!
This is the best podcast there is. Thank you!

I love the evenhanded spirit of inquiry in this podcast- the non judge mental observations, the underlying joy in learning & discovering & the ability to go deep into sometimes uncomfortable questions without creating pain. I lean so much . You expand my world, my understanding of others, and of many new & evolving developments in our world. One of the best parts is the singing of thanks to unsung hero’s at the end of each episode

I’ve been listening to podcasts for years but have never felt so compelled to write a review. The “Tunnel Vision” podcast was forwarded to me in Germany by an Aunt in Hawaii, and resonated so strongly with me. I grew up in a single-parent household and am now managing my own family as a single parent, and scarcity and tunnel vision is my default mindset, not only financially, but with time as well. I too, feel like I cannot afford to sit still, and yet I am only worsening the scarcity by neglecting to set aside time to do so. Thank you so, so much for creating the podcast. Of all the podcasts out there designed to help people improve their lives, this has proven the most powerful to me, literally bringing me to tears at the end. Powerful stuff!!!

So often, the reports of society-, neuroscience-, psychology- and behavioural science are just so surprisingly counter intuitive...it's very valuable to be reminded of how different some things are then we often think.
