The election is over. But the story has just begun. Michael Barbaro, who has covered the last two presidential races for the Times, hosts our twice-weekly conversation about the biggest stories and surprises coming out of the campaign. The show features Times political reporters, Opinion columnists and data analysts. You’ll also hear interviews with key players on the political scene. It’s the access and authority The New York Times does best.

Thank you for trying to close the divide.

Being an Austrian living in Germany I sometimes wish European journalists would have a similar approach to the topic of radicalization in politics. Rather than fueling fears among more liberal minded people of populists and their votes you dig deeper and try to show the motives leading to elections like the one we saw in November and probably will see in next April in France. The last two dialogues gave me a lot of insights on what drove people to vote for Trump and you gave them the platform to raise their views themselves. This is such great work, very impressive. But more so you do not hide behind being a world class journalist as there is never cynicism or arrogance, you also encourage people to talk about their differences (e.g. by offering the questionnaire just in time for thanksgiving). What an inspiration.
