Can’t trust NYT anymore
A lot of the overseas reporting is pretty good but there were two episodes about trials in America (Rittenhouse & Depp v Heard) that were COMPLETELY mischaracterized. I watched most of these trials CLOSELY. And even if the reporters thought that the verdicts in these trials were unjustified (which I can understand), the WAY the NYT spin these trials was a COMPLETE MISREPRESENTATION of what happened in the court room. If they spin these stories… than what other stories are they spinning?

Dropping „the Shoa“ in one sentence…
… and then focusing purely on the „Palestinian suffering“ right in the next sentence as if the shoa and antisemitism didn’t exist and as if those particular politicians wouldn’t play a huge role in supporting antisemitism in the US is a level of bad journalism I wouldn’t expect from the NYT. Or should I from now on.

Great Podcast
This is a great podcast with well-elaborated topics. It is always a real treat to listen to good journalists presenting the full scope of complex issues in a structured way. I like that you keep up good journalism without polemics and being one-sided.

Special thanks for the ‚never forget‘ episode
A wonderful text. Very moving and somehow also comforting.

Shocking
Just listening to the latest Podcast about mandatory vaccinations and I’m shocked - no pushback, no critical questions, nothing. The „land“ of the free is far gone it seems…

Fantastic Podcast
I listen almost everyday if I can and have been listening for almost 2 years now. Michael Barbaro is a truly great host, asking all the right questions and making it seem effortless. I subscribed to the NYT because this podcast is so important to me. Keep up the great work and support investigative journalism! We can make the world a better place !

Congratulations to the birth of your baby from Bonn ( Germany). This is the greatest (and tiring) joy in life. I am addicted to the Daily! Thank you for your engagement.

Covid in Europe: where did NYT journalism go?
That last episode on Covid-19 and vaccination in Europe was a remarkable failure to present serious journalism. Sweeping generalizations, imprecise descriptions and a strangely sensational take on inter-state behavior. How could this happen?

Check the quote of Trump! I believe it was „Stand back & standby“ & NOT „Stand down & standby“

A Must Listen To Podcast
Having been a New York Times subscriber for a couple years, I find The Daily to be exceptionally entertaining—especially the Sunday reads.

One of the best
I really enjoy this podcast. It‘s insightful - even for news junkies - and I love Michael Barbarro as a host.
Greetings from Germany:)

Great Podcast
I am a listener from Germany and discovered this podcast only a month ago. I absolutly love it and even listened through a lot of the older episodes. The variety of topics makes it very exciting and as a non-US citizen it gives me a great inside of the US. Every day look forward to the latest episode.

nyt no more
the tendency was always there but it became unbearable lately: the wokeness. I can’t take it anymore

Excellent news podcast
The Daily was my first podcast and it is the reason why I became a digital subscriber. I like the way it explains big issues in sometimes small scenes.
2020-05-28
Best daily news source
I enjoy the wide range of topics covered, even though a lot of it is focused on the US. Issues are explained using simple language, yet interesting contexts and speaker's! The length is perfect for your daily news intake.

Informative but at times too entertaining..
I like the podcast but it can be a little too anecdotal. The scope of the podcast episodes is at times too personal and smaller than I hoped. But I love the newspaper as a subscriber and enjoy the podcast as a whole.

My daily view on the US and the world. With the perfect balance of detail and big picture. The NYT must-listen podcast produced by an incredible team and always great guests.

Not only profit
While profit does matter in medical devices and private companies, the error here lies in poor contracting by the govt. they should have constructed the contract that they own the ‘work’. They could have then given the work to another company to continue.

Keep up the work !
I follow only 4 podcasts. This is one of them.

Pseudo dramatic and overly emotional
Maybe, this is American entertainment, but I find it to be edited and narrated in a way that it feels like artificially creating pseudo drama especially with its emotionally loaded narration. I started listening during the Corona outbreak to get some sort of idea on how American is coping. But I couldn’t stand it. So much wining and overloading of simple but bloated stories. Also the content appears to be stretched to 30ish minutes, while it could be delivered in pointy 10minutes.

Annoying
Check out The Guardian’s Today in Focus, it is much better for these reasons:
1) Like the Times in general, The Daily will not go up against Wall St, Big Money or the Democratic establishment. It is not critical enough, and it is especially unfair on Sanders. Now that he’s the front runner things like this Super Tuesday podcast are especially egregious attempts to take him down.
2) The production is so annoying. Constant bombardment with cable news soundbites and the accompanying music sounds like something from a really bad bloopers reel. Here the Guardian podcast in contrast excels, their sound designer is amazing.

Excellent journalism!
My one and only everyday and „non-negotiable“ podcast, it’s totally worth setting aside a special time of the day for it, listening and being educated on so many levels! Keep up your fantastic work! Greetings from Germany!

Brilliant podcast! All you need to know
On my way home from work The Daily gives me the perfect overview about what is important in the US and in the world. Situations are well explained and well researched! Thank you for bringing the world all the news that fit’s to listen to!

My favorite english podcast
Hi guys,
I am listing to your amazing podcast every day from Germany. It was a recommendation from a successful political Podcast in Germany (“Die Lage der Nation"). Mostly on my way back home from work I listen to your well researched and very well explained podcasts about what’s going on in the world.
I also love the part where you say: "here's what else you need to know today"
A huge Thank you and I am looking forward to the next years of “The Daily”.

Great content but why does it become less?
I adore your show! In the last recent weeks, I have been following the news that you cover eagerly, and have grown to love everything about the way you present them.
This last week, I must say I was unsatisfied. It felt like in the weeks before, one could expect at least one long episode on every weekday plus some extras. This week I feel like you haven’t been as active. Is there a reason for this?
Please keep up the great work.
Sincerely
marleriee

Topic proposal
I looooove your show and am eagerly listening in Germany to your well researched, well prepared and well explained podcasts on all kinds of topics. But one topic has been missing in the years I’ve been with you: environment. And it is everywhere right now. Why not do a podcast on waste-free living? Or what happens to all the plastic that is being thrown away? Or the automobile lobby? Or why alternatives to plastic have such a hard time becoming mainstream?
You have taught us so much about politics, no-go‘s, situations - teach us something here as well in your wonderful NYT-style.
Thanks for everything! Great job!

Again, thank you.
Hi guys,
this is not the first review I post here and it won’t be the last, I am sure.
Thank you for your work, thank you, for example, for the recent episodes on Allred and her daughter. Your work holds us all up to a higher standard and it helps me question what I do with my life on a daily basis. Literally, it reminds me to keep my back straight and refocus on what matters.
Being a listener from Germany, I have listened to The Daily a lot less recently since you seem to be focusing almost exclusively on U.S. politics based topics now. Yet, every time I spot an episode which sparks my interest, I am rewarded with an outstanding, surprising, truly insightful story. Again, thank you.

Great podcast
Very informative and very well told!

Inappropriate advertising
I’m a subscriber to the NYT because of The Daily to support great journalism. But to have the fascinating reporting interrupted by advertising for an airline when everyone knows that commercial air travel is a major contributor to the impending climate catastrophe is deeply disturbing! How can you be independent when you rather take their money? I’ll cancel my subscription if I have to be subjected to this advertising.

Very good
It’s a little bit to fast for me And the intro is also very fast.
But very informative and very accurate informations, good guests and questions that rule the world are answered.

The best!
For me as a German the best to stay updated about the US policy and to improve my English.
Such a good and critical journalism

Very good podcast - with some deficits this week
I listen to The Daily almost daily - it is one of my favorite podcasts. But I was particularly disappointed by Tuesday’s report on France. I found it very one-sided, only reporting from the point of view of the yellow vests - who do have legitimate concerns, but it completely failed to mention the reforms Macron is trying to make and why and also neglected to mention the incredible social security benefits every French citizen is entitled to - employed or not. This is something the average American listening to the podcast is not even aware of.
2019-05-25
Probably the best news podcast
Incredibly well produced news podcast - this is the podcast you have to listened to daily!
2019-05-17
High Quality News Podcast
Well researched, unbiased, on point. One of the best news podcasts, if not the best.
2019-04-19
Palestinian view
I especially loved the episode with the young Palestinian who shared his inspiring and utterly smart views on the Israeli election. I love how The Daily is open to *all* sides of a conflict and not just the one that are politically opportune and gives them room for their thoughts and views.

2019-03-09
Very good podcast
You get a lot of information . One of the best podcasts.
2019-02-25
Keep it up
Unbelievable every day production. Listening everyday from Germany.
Keep it up!

Great
Very informative

Excellent
I like how the New York Times tries To step out of their comfort zone to also see other points of view. The occasional times it is obvious how their own beliefs get in the way. Check out the sherif from Texas interview or on Erdogan, where the origin of Erdogan ‚s economic policy on low interest rates is rooted also in his Islam faith. The was considered irrelevant in the feature and not even mentioned. So there are some issues like this where they pre-edit. But all over a great informative pod cast.

Soooo Good
Hey, I'm a 17 year old student from Germany and this podcast helps me to get better in English and it's pretty good to get to know a specific topic in detail. Many thanks to the team and host Michael Barbaro.

Fantastic
Absolutely fantastic, I as a German learned a lot of things regarding current topics that the US has to deal with. It's entertaining, in depth, just perfect. Also very well cut, music and background voices etc.
