The new title cover

.. is disappointingly heteronormative.
This podcast is so wonderful I showing diversity and being critical of the suffering caused by gender norms ... why the pink and blue now?

Great inspiration

Although I often don’t relate to the couples situation/problem, I always get inspired by Esthers approach to understand the core of problems, her often surprising shift of perspective, her empathy, her outside of the box thinking and understanding of people and their needs. Truly a discovery !

Fascinating

I want to thank Esther Perel for this incredible podcast. What you do is a public service. These sessions are so interesting and in each episode I learn so much not only about romantic relationships, but also about the complexity of being human. I can’t thank you enough. It’s also fascinating to see how she works with the couples and listening to all the theories of her books in practice. The world would be a better place if everyone paid attention at this and did therapy.

Trauma doesn’t like to be touched

By listening to these sessions I have noticed a pattern, that more often that not, in the middle of any problem there is history. Many couples will reflect together with Esther on ‘where they learnt that habit/behavior/notion etc’.... normally is goes back to their own past. I have started watching my own reactions, feelings & in deed all my actions and reactions are majorly influenced by my past experiences. I do overreact (way over the top) when people press some buttons but now I have realized it is because for me those buttons goes way back into even a deeper story. So for me, at this moment, before I crucify someone for saying something or hurting me..... I ask myself the hardest question...’is this story about the present occurrence or is it my past speaking?’
...... and indeed trauma doesn’t want to be touched
