I’ve been extraordinarily negligent about writing a review for this podcast (sorry Chris and Stephanie) but I must express my admiration for this project which is clearly a labor of love for both of them.
I discovered the show when Rick Steves promoted it on his FB page. And having enjoyed the interviews, I subscribed and listened to the episodes I had missed and have continued listening from there. And I have even lurked in their FB group without donating on their Patreon account (I plan to redress this soon)!
For fans of Rick Steves and the Rick Steves Europe tv show, it’s a lot of fun to dive a bit deeper into each episode. But Stephanie and Chris bring to each podcast their own gravitas as a travel writers and really expand beyond this content/framework so that the episodes that are more tangentially related (or completely unrelated) to Rick Steves are just as interesting.
And, rest assured, their show is very much in the spirit of Rick Steves. The tone is good humored but informative, politically engaged but not didactic or dull, and thoughtful enough to engage both the casual and serious traveler.
