One of Dublin's Historians in Residence, Elizabeth Kehoe has developed a walking tour of Parnell Square which shines a lot on many aspects of its history. Walking around it, we encounter things as diverse as symbolic weapons in the mosaic tiles of the Garden of Remembrance and the coat of arms of the Duke of Rutland. In recognition of the involvement of the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin City Council Dublin Winter Lights, Elizabeth took me on a walk around one of Dublin's most important squares. With thanks to Dublin City Council for supporting this edition of the podcast.

Discovering unknown facts about Irish History

I have now lived away from Ireland for over 40 years now. I grew up in an Ireland where history was taught under the parameters of very restrictive textbooks and teaching methods. This podcast gives a new perspective on some very interesting topics. Thank you Donal Fallon for your insights and enthusiasm. Keep up the great work

In Donals fair podcast… 🎶

My daughter who studied abroad at TCD pointed Donal and his podcast out to me. She had been lucky to attend one of his city tours and as a history student is fascinated and impressed by Donals understanding of Dublin. As longtime U2 fan I particulary loved the episode „A Sort of Homecoming“ but I also enjoy listening to every other episode of this podcast. Everybody who loves Dublin and is interested in history should subscribe to this podcast.
