Desert Island Discs was created by Roy Plomley in 1942, and the format is simple: a guest is invited by Kirsty Young to choose the eight records they would take with them to a desert island
I like hearing the stories of successful people and how they reached their success. This is a great show and you don't need lots of wrinkles to enjoy it either- I find the music choices completely arbitrary since I could not care less what music people like - it's more about these people's life stories.
