My most share podcast of all. This interview was so raw and profound. I have started therapy probably 2 years ago and not because of any traumatic experience or childhood but I had reaccuring patterns that I wanted to figure out.
I see a therapist because I am well.
This podcast was a brilliant light on the true meaning of therapy.

Firstly, you are incredible!
Thank you Jay, I believe that your words of wisdom and motivation has had a direct impact on me as a person, the way I interpret situations, and my happiness!
2021 has been the most life changing and stressful year, but yet so fulfilling.
I went through a divorce because he cheated on me, moved into a small apartment with no furniture, got horribly sick from covid, had work stress, money stress and lost so many friends and family due to the divorce.
I knew something had to change, I was depressed and started getting panic attacks and fainting.
I started listening to podcasts to see where i can change to be happy, for myself, and my 6 year old daughter. Your podcast came up and it changed my life.
I went from hating everything and everyone to being happy and content.
I started dating an incredible man, got a new job, and moved into a better, bigger apartment.
You have taught me mindfulness, and that in itself has made the world of difference. Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to teach and love. Your work is an inspiration!
I crave listening to your podcasts in the mornings on my way to work. It starts my day off the right way.
You are making a difference!

I needed this specific episode of the podcast. Im currently working on my first EP, and the person helping me made a hurtful comment that I’ve been mulling over. After listening to today’s episode I’m deciding to intentionally remember that “People’s thoughts don’t affect your reality unless you let them”. I’m not going to let his comment affect my reality.

FAMILY FRAGMENTATION AND ISOLATION

Love your show Jay.Last 16 months have been torrid and not only about Covid but because about internal family strive.I am a liberal individual and was brought up in a way to respect people, race, friends and especially family. The last year, politics in the USA,although I live in South Africa, has caused tumult with my children and wife.I am a white South African and disagreed that rioting is not protest.protesting is about standing up united and act in a way to act constructively to bring about change.I have a legal background, thus my pivot is to stability, law abiding actions etc.Since this happened I have been ostracized.Classified as white privelege,an old man from the apartheid era although I disagreed with its policies. My dad, as a business man and public figure fought against it and establishment to achieve a new South Africa, yet my children showed his memory no respect. He passed away in 2013.My children each see a therapist. My wife and I see a therapist. I have become so isolated that I only find comfort in my own room in a house of 700 sq meters.I have tried to make amends for things I did not think I may have done wrong.Followed your advice for making unequivocal apologies without expecting anything back.Asked what changes on my part will bring about change. Can you discuss these issues possibly. How do we overcome issues about different opinions, different perspectives without always agreeing, value changes where children feel they don’t have to respect you as a parent just because you are their parent.Overcoming differences where children have privileges, but accuse you of privilege although they keep receiving the benefit of these purposes. Not feeling that communicating about a parents past just to learn life lessons that could help them even if they don’t take the advice at all. That just because you don’t support destructive rioting that you don’t object to protest. That because you don’t align with BLM does not make you a racist. That drifting apart is so destructive as we only have one chance and once a person dies that opportunity is gone. Sorry for the length of this review/request.

I wish you tranquillity and abundance.

Hi Jay, I’m a 19 year old from South Africa and the past 2 years of my life were by far the most difficult. If I’m being honest, my whole life has been quite the climb and I’m so grateful for have coming across your podcast at the time I did. I started tuning in this year March and I must admit, I felt my whole vibration, mindset and perception change for the better. I’m young but the things I’ve experienced have forced me to invest in personal, emotional and mental development. I’m grateful for this universal push and I’m even more grateful that you’re the frequency I’m being pushed towards. I love your podcasts and the work you do. Thank you for being you.🤍

What a great podcast. Up there with the best I have listened to so far. 👍👍👍
Recall when Will Smith received his last Grammy, and he said that you don’t need to use profanity in your songs to win awards! Was a monumental moment, especially considering who he his fellow nominees were. Now we know where that wisdom came from.
Will, as a South African, we can associate with your feelings towards the late Nelson Mandela. He was humble, but larger than life and we would also not have felt worthy.
Loved the advice given about rifts and clearing the air, towards those here and now departed.
Thanks guys.
Will be listening to it many more times to come still.
